Translation Memory (TM) Properties Dialog

The Translation Memory Properties dialog displays the properties of the SDL Trados translation memory (TM) currently active in the TM Workbench.

The dialog box can be opened from the TM menu in the TM Workbench window and from RC-WinTrans' Dictionary/TM menu.

Dialog Box Elements

•	File name and location Field Displays the name and path of the active translation memory.
•	Description Edit Field Description text for the translation memory.
•	Source language and Target language Fields The TM's source and target languages.
•	Number of items Field Displays the total number of items contained in the TM.
•	Source language and Target language Fields The TM's source and target languages.
•	Read-only ("No") Checkbox Sets or removes the "read-only" file attribute for the translation memory file (.sdltm).
•	TM fields for RC-WinTrans ("Comment" and "Origin") ("No") Checkbox RC-WinTrans uses two custom fields ("Comment" and "Origin") to save a resource item's description (also called "Note") and origin information (item name and the name of the source file). SDL Trados TMs that are created by the TM Workbench contain these fields automatically. Translation memories created by a tool other than the RC-WinTrans can have these custom fields added at any time by keeping this property UNchecked. Check the box to remove the custom fields from the TM. NOTE: Checking this box also removes the RC-WinTrans "Comment" and "Origin"data from all translation units in the translation memory. The option is disabled when an RC-WinTrans text file dictionary (.txt) is opened by the TM Workbench.
